How to Become a Wedding Minister
The Universal Life Church recognizes that there are many different religions throughout the world, and each of them has a different idea on how to profess and recognize the love of two people. The ULC believes that wedding ceremonies and vows are a special tradition; they are the couple’s announcement to the world that “we are joined in love”.
Once you become an ordained minister, you are legally entitled to perform a wedding and officiate marriages for friends, family and others. Some ordained ministers may do it once, while others find it their life calling and open up a wedding ministry.
The Universal Life Church has many resources to teach and educate our new marriage ministers. Our Ministerial Training Center can teach you how to perform a wedding for various faiths, either traditional or simple, and for both same-sex or opposite sex couples. We invite you to take your time and look over some of our online minister training and instructional material,as well as hard copies you may purchase from the ULC Monastery’s online store.
Please visit the Universal Life Church Monastery for more information.
“How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” – George Washington Carver
